Margaret Mahy Trip Recount!

Hi and welcome back to my blog. Today I will be telling you about my trip to Margaret mahy playground with my school. I went to Victoria Square first and then I went to the Margaret mahy play second to last I went to tuna and mats and last but not least I went to the wakas.

On Thursday the 20th of may 2021 Tumu hub went to Margaret Mahy for our PBL. We had to do four activities and we had 45 mins per activity.

We went to Victoria Square and had a little look around and then we drew a pou then we went back to Margaret Mahy to do a scavenger hunt and to sketch something from the stuff carved in the ground. We went to Tuna and mats third we had a look at 3 mats and then went of to feed the tuna Mrs Bryce chose 8 people to feed the tuna first that was not me but the people that did not get chosen first got to play on the playground while they wait. the first group finished feeding the tuna but they did not chose another group to feed the tuna we got to go on the waka instead on the waka it was not as fun as i thought it would be when I was rowing I keeped hitting my thum on the side of the waka when we all got of the waka I looked at my thum it was red and sore then nafter the other group feed the tuna I was able to feed the tuna Mrs Bryce put some cat food on my spoon so I can feed the tuna because tuna like cat food I put my spoon clause to the biggest tuna i could see she ate it I wanted to feed them again but Mrs Bryce didn’t let me so I went back to the playground to play then everyone got told to come then the teachers did the roll and then we left.

My favourite part of the trip was when Mrs Carney said that we can have 10mins of play before we did the activity and when we got to play in the leaves at Victoria Square.

Something I learnt was that Victoria Square was first named Victoria Square on may the 23 1837. Margaret Mahy used to be a pool and markets.

The thing I found the most interesting was that before the big earthquake Magaret Mahy used to have markets  and a pool.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because it is based on Otauahi Because of the native trees and bushes around the place and all the birds on the poles and the trees.

Has your school ever been for a town trip?
